When we are lied to by that one person we chose to trust, we usually turn a blind eye. Why is that? Some say it's because of love, or stupidity, or naiveté, or faith, or a little bit of each. Somehow, that is true but actually, we view the non-disclosure as a protection, a shield that would save us from the pain of the actual blow, thus even considering it an act of chivalry in our subconscious. No wonder people always find comfort in the cushion of a lie. The good news though is that nothing fruitful ever happens anywhere that we find comfortable. So we tire, eventually. And deservingly so.
